Code Juliettes is a certified 501c(3) nonprofit organization based in Concord, NC. Named after the pioneering woman and revered founder of Girl Scouts of the USA, Juliette Gordon Low, it was established by a high school student and a lifelong Girl Scout with the mission to provide an easily accessible platform for young women to explore and discover STEM education, resources, and opportunities. Code Juliettes collaborates with local public libraries and science museums in Mecklenburg, Cabarrus and Gaston counties in North Carolina. This collaboration enables the organization to hold STEM information sessions in conjunction with the different organizations' STEM events. Our nonprofit's goal is to provide young women with a simple and easy-to-use platform to learn and develop STEM skills. We believe that by collaborating with community partners, we can make a meaningful impact in increasing young women's access to STEM education and opportunities.
Code Juliettes' founder and president, Saaketa Chalasani, is currently a senior in high school. She is a member of the Academy of Information Technology at her high school, where she specializes in programming and got her start in technology and engineering. She has been an active member of the Girl Scouts since kindergarten, providing her with numerous invaluable experiences and many community service opportunities over the past decade. Saaketa aspires to attend college to pursue a degree in computer science. In her free time, she enjoys reading, going to the beach and spending time with family, friends and her dog Finn.
